Nach eingehender Suche in dieser Region und mehreren Besichtigungen verschiedener Objekte fanden wir ein kleines Grundstück von 2000 m² in der Nähe des Cabril See mit einem älteren Natursteinhaus in annehmbaren Zustand. Für uns war es wie ein Paradies. Jetzt sind wir Besitzer von 34 Olivenbäumen, etlichen Weinstöcken, eines Tangerinen und eines Zitronenbaumes, mehreren Fruchtbäumen , eines eigenen Brunnens mit Trinkwasser und eines Weinkellers im Haus. Die Wände des Hauses sind 51 cm dick und sorgen in den heissen Monaten für angenehme Frische. Der See liegt in 300 m Entfernung von uns. Natürlich muss das Haus teilweise instandgesetzt und aufgefrischt werden, aber alle notwendigen Funktionen sind intakt, gut genug eine angenehme Zeit dort zu verbringen und es Schritt für Schritt in ein nettes kleines Chalet mit allem modernen Komfort umzuwandeln. ... fotogalerie ...

After intensive search in the region around the Cabril Lake and lots of visits to various objects, including some huge dry valleys with some ruins on it, we finally found a little property of 2000 m² with an older stone-built house in a restorable condition. It looked to us like a dream. So much green and fertile gardenland around !! Now we are owners of 34 olive trees, 36 grapevines, 1 tangerine- and 1 lemontree, 5 various fruit trees, own waterwell with drinking water and an original "adega" (wine cellar) inside the house, where all installations to make wine are in function. The walls of the house are 51 cm thick, that's why inside the house it is comfortable fresh in times of hot summer. We are 300 meters from the Cabril lake. Of coarse the house has to be partwise restored and refreshed, but the basic functions are all working and intact, good enough to spend a splendid time there and transforming it step by step into a nice little chalet with all modern comforts. We are not the first: there are already a good amount of people of all Europe in this amazing landscape which own nice rustic houses, new or to restore, with their own land for the most different purposes: some live there constantly and run some sort of smallholding, some just come there to spend their holidays in their own house. ... fotogalery ...
